Weird-fish, niche-site case study

I had never heard of “cichlid fish” before.
But then again, I ain’t no fish expert :-) .

As it turns out, people make money online
in all kinds of “unknown” niches…

For the last couple of years, I have been hearing
a lot of “noise” about “Niche Profit Classroom”
(NPC for short), which is a membership site that
teaches niche marketing.

I recently decided to join, just to see what the
fuss was all about. Below is my honest review -
and “preview.” I’ll take you behind the scenes…

SOME TAKEAWAYS FROM NICHE PROFIT CLASSROOM:

- You can see an example of a site built with this
method over at http://CichlidFishCenter.com/

- The above is a “long-form squeeze page”
that gathers optins. If you want to see the
other pages of the site, go to
http://CichlidFishCenter.com/site-map/

- On the right side of each internal page you will
see monetization mechanisms like a banner
or an optin form

- The niches should have some competition
(that shows profitability) and preferably be
evergreen (and not fads)

- The sites get links from article marketing,
blog commenting, forum posts, directory
submissions, Web 2.0 sites and Yahoo! Answers

- If the niche site is successful, you can take it to
the next level and create your own product in the
niche (templates for ebooks, salesletters, download
pages, affiliate pages etc are included).

PROS AND CONS OF NICHE PROFIT CLASSROOM:

- After you order, you will be presented with
2-3 upsell offers. Some people will be annoyed
by them (unless they are really interested in
what is offered).

- I almost got a panic attack, when I saw the
amount of content in the membership site.
There’s a TON of content in the member’s area:
videos, special reports, recorded webinars,
templates etc. It can take you quite a while to
go through it – however, the content is very
well-presented and well-organized.

- Some of the videos on doing keyword research
using the Google keywords tool are based on the
older keyword tool layout. Since Google has made
some changes to the keyword tool, those who have
never used it before may become a bit “weirded out”
by this.

- The sites built with this method aren’t created
with the push of a button. High-quality articles
need to get written. However, you will know that
you have a valuable site that really helps people.
Plus, you won’t have to worry about Google Panda
updates or whatever. These sites are rock solid.

- A nice touch is the interviews done with some
of the most successful members of NPC. You can
gain valuable insights by hearing the story of those
who have “been there, done that.” Some of the
interviews could have delivered the “nuggets”
in a shorter amount of time – but I suppose the
interview format tends to “stretch out” the info a bit.

- More blog posts and video webinars are added
all the time to keep you updated on the latest news
and tactics…

Ok, I don’t want to make this email too long,
so let’s wrap up…

NPC is $67 per month – but you can try it out for
14 days for just $1 and see if it’s for you:

Talk soon,

George

PS. If you have any questions about something
I didn’t cover, just let me know and I’ll do my
best to answer them :-)
