2 “root reasons” why you procrastinate and what to do about them
One of the top obstacles we face, is that we put off doing the things we need to do.
We KNOW what needs to be done - but we still procrastinate.
So, why do we do it? There can be many reasons. Many of them have to do with fear of some sort. Since there are hundreds of fears, that would take a lot of time to analyze. But for now, here are two “deep” reasons that are not talked about that often:
Procrastination Reason 1: Being “bossed around” when little
When we were kids, we weren’t really asked what our opinion was. We were just “ordered” to do things.
“Sit down!”
“Pay attention to the class!”
“Eat your food!”
Sometimes, the intention behind this was good. The adults wanted to help us build a better life (for the most part). However, we had developed a negative association with being told what to do.
As kids, since we had no “power” over the adults, we just decided to be “passive aggressive” about it.
